Xeni Kusumitra

Xeni Kusumitra works with oil colours and dry drawing mediums, like pastels and coloured pencils, often depicting sunsets, forests and snowscapes. Kusumitra became interested in art at 16 years old, having a career in nursing before aspiring to become a Medical Illustrator. In 2019 Kusumitra entered the Fishers Ghost Art Award, winning the Macability Award. Recently Xeni completed a painting commission of the Sydney Opera House for Autism Spectrum Australia with whom she works as an Autism Advocate. In 2021, Kusumitra’s painting of C-A-C Director Michael Dagostino, marking his tenth year at the Arts Centre, was a finalist in the Archibald Prize. Xeni spoke on the 2021 Arts Activated Conference panel, Highlighting Diversity: The Impact Of Representation On A National Platform.
