NAISDA and Campbelltown Arts Centre continue their commitment to the development of professional dance pathways and cultural knowledge for local young people in 2020.
Developing artists and NAISDA graduates will lead in-school workshops for over 150 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in high schools across Macarthur region.
12 talented students will be selected for the program which involves Campbelltown on Country day with local Elders an excursion to Dharawal National Park, 3 day residence at NAISDA Dance College and a presentation for the local community at Campbelltown Arts Centre.
The multi-stage program allows Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the Macarthur region the chance to explore their creative voice through artistic mentorship in dance, cultural knowledge and performance skills. The program is led by community Elders, established dance artists and some of the most promising young contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers in Australia.
