29 September – 18 December 2020
NAISDA and Campbelltown Arts Centre continue their commitment to the development of professional dance pathways and cultural knowledge for local young people in 2020.
The annual program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students in the Macarthur region to explore their creative voice through artistic engagements in dance, cultural knowledge and performance skills. Burra Bamal is led by some of the most promising young contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers in Australia, with direction from community Elders and established dance artists.
In 2020, Burra Bamal looks a little different:
Free school holiday workshops are available in September – October, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
High schools are invited to register for a free video resource available throughout term 4; dance workshop for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
