Jude Fleming is a contemporary landscape artist who lives and works in Warren, NSW, Australia. Fleming is a mixed-media artist whose work explores the natural landscape using acrylic paint, collage and found objects, sculpture, drawing and artist books.
Practicing in both plein air and studio environments, Fleming’s work is informed by her experience of moving between and residing in the Australian bush. Her work aims to convey a direct and emotional response to landscape, peppered with personal memories.
Materially, Fleming is particularly drawn to paper and uses it liberally as a surface, applied as collage and to produce artist books and sculptural forms. Both found and handmade papers often emerge in her practice.
Fleming holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Painting from the National Art School, Sydney and has participated actively in the arts for more than 20 years.
Jude Fleming is the winner of the 2019 Outback Archies, an initiative of Outback Arts, Coonamble, NSW. Campbelltown and Coonamble share a sister-city relationship.
