Presented by C-A-C, Handpicked | 2019 Annual Makers Market showcases Western Sydney and the Macarthur region’s diverse community of artists and makers.

Handpicked provides an alternate Christmas shopping destination and is an afternoon out for the whole family to find a gift or self-gift that supports local artists and makers. Experience a unique range of stalls featuring a bespoke offering of artwork, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, woven pieces, leather goods, living sculptures and more.

A series of workshops for children and adults will be running throughout the afternoon and for the foodies, a selection of stalls will be serving up dinner and dessert.

Handpicked coincides with the 57th Fisher’s Ghost Art Award exhibition. The gallery will extend opening hours during the market until 8pm, all works within the exhibition are available to purchase.


Due to predicted wet weather the markets located in the gallery and food will still be available.

We Are Superheroes with Dennis Golding
4:30pm – 5:30pm | $10

For all the mini superheroes out there! It’s time to revamp your capes! In this workshop, Fisher’s Ghost Award winning artist, Dennis Golding will explore ideas about identity and culture. All participants will get to design a special superhero symbol and create their very own cape!

Participants: Toddlers and Primary School Children



Reimagined Landscapes with Celeste Wrona
4:30pm – 5:30pm | $10

A mixed media workshop facilitated by Fisher’s Ghost finalist, Celeste Wrona. Participants will get to explore ideas around real and imagined landscapes using a variety of techniques using ink, stenciling and collage.

Participants: Adults and Children (7 years + accompanied with carer)


Weaving Workshop with Clarinda Vinter
6pm – 7pm | $10

Join our weaving workshop facilitated by local artist, Clarinda Vinter from Yirran Miigaydhu Weavers. Participants will get the opportunity to learn about traditional weaving, techniques and the importance of traditional weaving for Aboriginal women in their everyday lives.
