Ticket Parade is an exciting Masterclass Program for enthusiastic and committed Year 10 and 11 students studying Drama and Dance.

This inaugural program offers students from the Macarthur region the opportunity to attend a series of professional theatre or dance productions across greater Sydney in 2017. This project aims to be an experiential learning process, linking students to each other, to Sydney-based theatre and dance companies and contemporary practitioners.

Ticket Parade is tailored to complement students’ High School studies, giving them the chance to learn about new technologies and processes of contemporary theatre and dance production. It will enable students to learn about vocational pathways in the arts and their potential to pursue tertiary creative studies and a career in the arts.

Ticket Parade will consist of two Masterclasses – one for Drama students and one for Dance students. Each Masterclass will travel to see 4-5 productions across the year at various venues. There are places for 10 students per Masterclass.

The Drama Program will include visits to: Performance Space, Belvoir St Theatre, Powerhouse Youth Theatre, Urban Theatre Projects and Campbelltown Arts Centre.

The Dance Program will include visits to: Riverside Theatres, Sydney Opera House, Bangarra Dance Theatre and Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Students will be provided exclusive ‘backstage’ access and the opportunity to talk with the creative team (Directors, Writers, Actors or Technicians) working on the various projects. Complimentary tickets will be given to these students and a bus will be organised to transport them to the performances and back. They will be guided by Campbelltown Art Centre’s Program Educator and Curator of Dance and/or Curator of Contemporary Performance.

The Ticket Parade program of set dates will be issued early next year and will include 4-5 evening productions across the year. A schedule with times and locations will be provided prior to the commencement of the program.

It is important that each student can commit to the entire program, attending each production.
