How the Birds Got Their Colours

Wednesday 5 July | 10am – 2pm

A NAIDOC Week Special Event at Macarthur Square

Come hear the dreamtime story of how birds got their colours followed by an artmaking workshop for children to create and decorate their own transforming bird puppet that retells the story. In this NAIDOC week special event, children will learn about traditional and recycled arts with local weaver Carmen Sandy and puppeteer Fiona Gentle. Following the workshop, kids are invited to take home their creations as a memory of this story and our collective responsibility to the environment.
