Friday 16 November | 5pm – 8pm
Beats, colours and cocktails will be mixed at this one of a kind after hours event that combines live music, artmaking, food and beverages in the beautiful Mount Annan Botanic Garden setting. Artmaking will include a dynamic fusion of nude figure drawing, botanical studies and en plein air painting to be facilitated by contemporary artist, Victoria Garcia.
Victoria Garcia’s workshop will explore the bold and graphic nature of lino block printing as inspired by her own practice. Participants will be shown: methods of cutting, inking and rolling-up, and registration techniques to produce a lino artwork in repeat using 1-2 colours. The result – a beautiful, colourful fabric repeat completely designed and printed from start to finish by you. You will be provided with cotton fabric to print on, but please feel free to bring additional pieces of material if you would like to practice on before your final piece, or to create a second piece if time allows. You will also be able to take your printed lino block home with you to continue printing at home.
Please be advised is an 18+ event and requires proof of age at entry. To make a booking or for full terms and conditions, please contact the Mount Annan Botanic Gardens on 02 4634 7900 or visit the link below.
