Various Dates: 28 May – 14 September
Campbelltown Arts Centre and NAISDA Dance College have worked in partnership for over ten years, to support students from the Macarthur region to develop professional dance pathways and strengthen their connections with local community and peers.
In 2018 we will continue this two part program, with both in-school workshops (BOOKED OUT) as well as a mentorship for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to grow their pathways in contemporary dance.
The 2018 mentorship is an intensive dance project for up to 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in years 9 – 12 with an interest in dance. Successful applicants will have the chance to explore their creative voice through artistic mentorship in dance, cultural knowledge and performance skills led by community Elders, established dance artists and some of the most promising young contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dancers in Australia. The mentorship will include workshops, performances, on country visits and a three day residency at NAISDA Dance College in Gosford.
This is an annual program presented in partnership with Campbelltown Arts Centre and NAISDA Dance College.
